A nice Bordeaux value wine with blackberry, plum, earth and forest scents, medium body and soft textures. This crowd pleasing style of wine is best enjoyed on the young side. With sweet black cherries, earth and tobacco, this soft textured, medium bodied wine has already reached its apogee and needs to be drunk up over the next few years before the fruit begins to fade.

It is customary to say that Margaux wines are the "most feminine" in the Médoc, thus stressing their delicacy, suppleness and their fruity, elegant aromas. This does not affect their great propensity for aging; The wine acidity is huge, bordering on being out of balance. Medium bodied, big on the mid-palate. Congruent with the nose, as the wine breaths the flavor profile shifts to darker blackberry fruits. Overall a nice, hedonistic, fruit forward wine 90 pts | Priority : ★★★★|

The bouquet is quite complex and boasts notes of cherry, leather, and a slight touch of green pepper. The flavors profile is very elegant but the wine has extreme power and body so it quite recommendable to let it breath a little before drink it, after that it transforms and spread out cherry, cedar, green and earthy underlining notes, and a grip of tannin make this wine a winner. This wine could use a few years in bottle before it sheds it's true color. Heavy tannin and oak overpower the fruit core but in time this wine will sing. This Bordeaux Blend, at its most basic, is any combination of those grape varieties typically used to make the red wines of Bordeaux. The phrase, which seems to have originated with British wine merchants in the 19th century, relates as readily to wines made from the blend as to the grape variety combination itself. Far from being an officially defined or legal term, it is almost never used for wine labeling purposes, although it occasionally appears on back labels. Its US equivalent is Meritage®, which is not only legally defined, it is also a registered trademark.
Cabernet Sauvignon is widely accepted as a compulsory component of any Bordeaux Blend, with Merlot following very close behind. In fact, the majority of Bordeaux Blend wines are made predominantly, often exclusively, from these two varieties. The remaining components are Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec, used in varying combinations and proportions. Even Carmenere figures on the list of theoretically possible ingredients, despite being almost extinct among modern Bordeaux vineyards (notable exceptions include this Chateaux Haut-Veyrac.
Nothing less nothing more, just a very good balanced wine.

Chateau Croix-Mouton Bordeaux Superieur is an ascending red wine gem from one of the Bordeaux estates owned by Jean-Philippe Janoueix, this one from the excellent 2008 vintage. It is a blend made from low yields of 87% Merlot and 13% Cabernet Franc. This wine is an outstanding value in red Bordeaux. Is dark ruby-purple in color with a beautiful nose of blackberry, blueberry, charcoal and sweet spices. Full-bodied with moderate acidity, beautiful texture and soft tannins, this Bordeaux offers rich flavors of plums, blackberries and spice. It is nicely balanced to be enjoyed now and over the next 5-6 years. The finish is long and velvety smooth.

This is intense and complex with noticeable Delicious Very classic Bordeaux for such a low price ($20 or about 2000 Japanese yens)Some tannins, well structured delicious, tastes very young, dark plum color in the glass. Soft fruit on the nose. Minimal discernible tannins. Black currant, chocolate, smoke, some high notes (maybe mild citrus?). Not very complex. I think this wine may reach its peak in a year or two but will not age well beyond that. Excellent for its price. Curious to know whether 2005 is significantly superior to other vintages of what might otherwise be an ordinary wine. 60 pts.| Priority : ★ |

This is not smooth and well-balanced, for what I strongly recommend to decanted, after that turn it to be a good tasting full bodied wine on the bright side. It’s not a very big wine but has plenty of power and really showcases ripe plum and black currant flavors on the mid-palate. The tannins offer not much support therefore becoming intrusive and raspy when sides down the throat with a wonderful touch of tannin on the back it'd be wonderful because its elegant flavors of cedar, earth, mint and black currant fruit finale. This is intense and complex with noticeable toasty oak framing deep, earthy currant fruit that shows a classic green, eucalyptus edge. Really open and complex with classic notes of green tobacco and warm spices framing black currant fruit. Big, soft, gauzy fruit in the mouth, red currant and black cherry backed up with pipe tobacco and toasty spice, lovely balance and with a nice austere edge to the non-intrusive tannins. This may lack a touch of freshness but the purity of the fruit makes up for it. On the finish nice shadings of tobacco and cocoa add depth to the fruit and the finale showcases a soft herbal note. This is really an all-around nice Bordeaux-style blend. Such of wine matched wonderfully to pair with what ever you named it, I really enjoyed. 90 pts.| Priority : ★★★★ |

Arguably the most renowned wines on earth, the classed growths of Bordeaux continue to epitomize the power and complexity Bordeaux blends are capable of. While most wines here are based on Cabernet Sauvignon, both Merlot and Cabernet Franc play important roles in adding layered complexity to the finished wines, and allow winemakers in each commune within the region to use the blend that is best suited to their unique combination of soil and meso-climate. This is a wine redolent of tobacco, gravel and smoke with wonderfully ripe Cabernet Franc, and Merlot rules the roost deep, a wines of uncommon refinement. This certainly takes 80points | Priority : ★★★ |
